Renewable Love

It caught my attention tonight when my cousin asked me to make her a contest speech for her contest debate on Issue: "Renewable marriage will be legalized in the Philippines." After 'googlelizing', I discovered that this issue has been proposed by women activist group "Isa-Ako Babaeng Astig Aasenso" or 1-ABAA from their name you'll see how proud, arrogant, and vulgar they may be "Astig" which means "hard" as contrary to what a Filipina women should be; demure, modest, family oriented, and God fearing. I don't really know why these family destroyers become a party list and now they are starting to mess and wreck the foundation of a Filipino family.

Our family has been founded in a Christian way of life it started from the love of two individual, children as fruit of love and considering family as single unit of the society. These individuals man and woman made a pact by God and by law that they will be together till death. Remember, by God and by Law. God first before the law. Laws are built to keep order and been framed from the belief of the Filipino common tao, a Christian way of life.

There is one story in the Bible in Matthew 19 verses 3-11. A proud, arrogant and hard (or let's say ASTIG) Pharisee came to test Jesus in Judea by asking: “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?” Jesus replied: “Haven’t you read, that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female, For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”

This renewable marriage is not an obvious divorce, but already a basic streamline to its motive. Now, sanctity of marriage has been in threat. Apostle Paul predicted people in the last days. He said, that people in that time will be lovers of themselves, having all forms of godliness but denying its power, and that last days might be today. This people of women party list, claiming to be christian women proposing this bill, as interviewed in ABS-CBN dated Nov 11, 2010 said that marriage should be like a canned food, it has its own shelf life. Now the big question, How can we rely our society to people that does not consider things seriously. Too illogical that the basic foundation of our society can just be considered as a canned food with shelf life? To think that marriage is a business object is completely absurd and outrageous.

We cannot deny the fact that marriage today has been taken for granted accusing each other of psychological incapacity to gain annulment. However this bill will never be an answer, never will become a solution, never a necessary action, rather this will aggravate more chaos, encouragement and shame to every Filipino family. A leaked faucet should never be open, keep it close until the leak is fixed otherwise more water will be wasted. In every problem there will always be response we human would react. To fix and to avoid, In medical science we call it; curative and preventive. To cure is an immediate solution, you know the problem exist so you have no choice but fix it and this curative will only be a short term goal. Preventive or anticipation on the other hand will be the best solution. Why would the married couple separate? We need to look for the root cause. Before we send couple to the altar they need to undergo seminars and free marriage counseling. Check if they are among the Eros Psycho Path, blinded by lust and love. If we do this we would avoid annulment and we would avoid weak and pathetic bill such as this one proposed by the "astig" people.

How much it will cost to renew love? Love can be too loud, and in silence it can. If love through papers is only a way to show love. Then get married every ten years if it really counts to show. So many couple celebrating their golden anniversary and I admire them for that. But for Filipinos that doesn't have enough to spend, real love is how you build your family. A Filipino family that has integrity and become socially productive.

To think that renewable marriage is a necessary solution in our society is a big lie, a Trojan horse waiting to unleash its internal motive to destroy our family. Filipino family today is in great challenge in great migration to overcome poverty. Should this bill be more necessary to address the immediate needs of the hungry Filipinos? Should this bill establish a sterling family foundation? Never! Never! Never! So where is the urgency? Where is the necessity of this bill?
